Past International Director Juan José Ceballos died on Jan.19, 2022.

The late Past Director Ceballos became a member of the Santiago Central Lions Club in 1968, and then a member of the Santiago Gurabo Lions Club in 2016. He held many positions in the association, including club secretary, treasurer and president, club membership chairperson, zone chairman and district governor and District Honorary Committee chairperson. He served as a Past International Director from 1990 to 1992. He was also the president of the Patronage Against Leprosy Filial Cibao, and the president of the Blind Patronage of the Cibao Region. He inspired Lions to help those in need locally and internationally.

For his many contributions to the association, the late Past Director Ceballos received the 100% District Governor Award, a 25 Member Key, 14 Extension Awards, three International President's Award, the 50-Year Monarch Chevron, and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor granted by the association to its members. He was also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
